About ClickDrag Finance
What is ClickDrag Finance?
ClickDrag Finance prepares cost segregation reports and studies for US rental and commercial property, for owners and for the CPAs and advisors who serve them.
Who writes and stands behind the content?
Howard Krieger, MBA is Managing Director of ClickDrag Finance and authors the firm's technical writing.
All published material is educational and is not tax advice; whether a study benefits a given taxpayer depends on basis, hold period, and passive-activity position.
What does ClickDrag Finance sell, and who signs it?
For a rental property whose purchase price plus construction costs total under $2.0 million, ordered by its owner or by a CPA or advisor for a client, ClickDrag Finance's cost segregation report is $499*, reviewed before release and unsigned, and it is not signed by a CPA or an engineer. *For a property whose purchase price plus construction costs total under $2.0 million.
ClickDrag Finance's cost segregation study is $15,000 for a property whose purchase price plus construction costs total up to $250 million, ordered by an owner from $2.0 million or by a CPA, tax or wealth advisor for a client of any size up to that limit, with a qualified human review of every component; a licensed engineer's signature is an optional $1,500 add-on and is not in the price.
Prices, limits and add-ons are on the pricing page.
How is a study built?
Each report and study is built from the property's own documents (construction pay applications, a trial balance, a closing statement and photos), and no site visit is needed to prepare it. A qualified human review of every component is part of the $15,000 study, not of the $499* report, which is reviewed before release and unsigned (it is not signed by a CPA or an engineer, or by anyone else). *For a property whose purchase price plus construction costs total under $2.0 million. The steps are on how it works.

When is ClickDrag Finance not the right choice?
You own one residential rental under about $500K of basis. The lowest published prices in the provider table are $495, at Cost Seg Smart and KBKG's CostSegregation.com (read October 12, 2026), against ClickDrag Finance's $499* report (for a property whose purchase price plus construction costs total under $2.0 million). R.E. Cost Seg lists its Fully Engineered study from $2,320 (residential), from $2,730 (commercial) (read October 12, 2026). ClickDrag Finance is not the lowest-priced row in the table.
Your lender, insurer or CPA requires a licensed engineer to walk the site. Choose a traditional engineering firm. ClickDrag Finance does not visit the site.
The three conditions for a study do not all hold. A cost segregation study is worth it when three conditions hold together: the basis is large enough for the accelerated deductions to outweigh the fee (roughly $500K of basis for a study priced in the thousands of dollars, which is a pricing threshold rather than a tax rule, and lower for a lower-priced report), the deduction is usable this year given the owner's passive-activity position, and the hold is long enough to survive recapture. All three, or the honest answer is no.
The comparison behind this is on the best cost segregation companies page, which ClickDrag Finance publishes and is itself listed on.
